ABOUT
The team at Springboard comes from a long line of local, family-owned small businesses. Founder and co-owner, Kay Zerkel, is a fourth-generation local entrepreneur. Her great-grandfather started Snyder Construction Company in the 1940s; this company served the Four-State area for over 70 years and remained family-owned throughout. Kay’s family remains an active part of the regional commercial landscape. They are behind some of Joplin's cornerstone businesses, particularly the Red Onion Cafe, one of downtown Joplin's iconic locations, as well as ROC's sister works (Red Onion Espressoria, and former Take Away Cafe and Bella Pepper’s). Joplin MOW is the newest example of another successful family enterprise; Kay and her father cofounded the business together and have run it successfully since 2015.
Kay founded Springboard in 2012 after years of acting as a marketing contractor for both family and other local businesses.
She is joined by co-owner Chris Dumm, a local estate-planning and elder-law attorney. Chris is an outstanding member the Four-State business community and is often asked to speak to local enterprises, as well as teach at Missouri Southern State University, where he is an adjunct professor. He is a trusted advisee on all of Springboard's client files and business developments.
Kimberly Zerkel, Kay’s sister, completes the team and is Springboard’s content writer and social media manager. Kimberly is the definition of a digital nomad, traveling between Paris and San Francisco. But her heart remains in Joplin and in seeing it thrive.
The mixture of personalities and experience is what drives Springboard. We strive to help our clients achieve success by providing quality, detail-minded, professional marketing products.
